이서연 변호사는 2001 년 Loyola Law School 을 우수한 성적( Dean’s Honor List) 으로 졸업한 이래, 고객의 이민정착에서 상속계획까지 복잡한 법적 문제들을 성공적으로 해결하고 있다.  법대 재학중 뛰어날 글솜씨로 Loyola Law Review에 당선되어 법률편집을 맡아 유명 변호사와 교수의 논문을 심사하고 수정했다.

이민법은 이변호사가 2001년 부터 가장많이 취급한 분야다. 가족초청, 투자이민, 취업이민을 비롯 복잡한 시민권까지 몇백건의 어려운 케이스들을 성공적으로 해결함으로써, 이민자들의 미국생활 길라잡이가 되어왔다.

한국말과 영어에 능통한 이서연 변호사는 미이민 변호사 협회 (AILA)의 투자이민 자문위원 (EB-5 Committee)을 역임 했다. 투자이민은 이민법 중에서 가장 복잡하면서 정책이 많이 바뀐다. 이변호사는 고객이 가족초청이나 취업스폰서가 없어도, 자녀교육과 미국의 꿈을 투자이민을 통해 이루도록 돕고 있다. 더우기 투자이민 조건해지 (Removal of Conditions)는 가장 어려운 난관으로 이변호사는 고용창출과 투자자금의 출처및 사용내력을 철저히 준비하고 증명하고 있다.

이민 정착후 고객의 미국과 한국 생활 차이로 인한, 부부갈등과 이혼과정에서 겪게되는 충돌을 가정법 중재를 통해 해결하고 있다.  이변호사는 재산분할, 양육권, 양육비및 배우자 부양비등 변호사들이 소송을 통해서 해결할수 없는 많은 복잡한 케이스를 중재를 맡아서 처리하고, 부부가 적이 아닌 친구로 남을수 있는 방법을 중재과정에서 보여주고 있다.

이변호사는 LA County Counsel의 Probate Division에서 수련을 받으며 한국과는 달리 생전신탁 (Living Trust)없이 사망시, Probate(상속법원)이라는 복잡하고 비용이 많이드는 법적 절차를 거쳐야 한다는 것을 목격하고, 이민고객들의 힘들게 모은 재산이 사랑하는 가족에게 전달되도록 유산상속과 고객의 재산보호를 위한 상속계획을 돕고있다.
